Calgarians and our surrounding neighbours are off to a strong start, with yesterday’s water use at 490 million litres. This is in the green zone and down 24 million litres from the previous day. Thank you for doing your part to save water!
To stay in the green zone, which is below 500 million litres a day, we are asking everyone to continue to:
- Stop all outdoor water use, including no outdoor flooding of skating rinks.
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads.
- Flush toilets only when needed.
- Keep showers to three minutes or less.
Water restrictions apply to all residents and businesses. Please help us spread the word to your family, friends, coworkers and neighbours.
Looking ahead
Crews are preparing to drain the existing Bearspaw South Feeder Main by setting up drainage sites, shutting down pumps and closing valves. Draining starts today. Please follow all pathway detours and stay clear of worksites.
Crews are also preparing for repairs on Parkdale Boulevard and near Broadview Park. While this work is underway, The City is exploring ways to improve traffic flow and reduce rush-hour delays along Parkdale Boulevard.
