At approximately 11:49 p.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2026, a collision occurred in the northbound lanes of 14 Street S.W. as the roadway approaches the bridge crossing the Bow River. At that time, an unidentified woman was crossing 14 Street S.W. in an unlit area of the roadway. A 2007 Hyundai Sonata travelling northbound struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver remained at the scene. Investigators are currently working to identify the pedestrian.
