The City of Calgary is providing an update on noise complaints received during the 2026 Calgary Stampede and traffic disruption updates
As of 11 a.m. on July 12, The City received 275noise complaints related to Stampede events and festival activities across Calgary. Complaints have been received regarding a number of festival sites and event venues throughout the city.
Community Safety Peace Officers continue to monitor noise levels at permitted events throughout Stampede and conduct noise measurements from nearby residential areas to assess compliance with approved Noise Exemption Permit conditions.
The City remains committed to balancing Calgary’s vibrant festival atmosphere with the needs of nearby residents. Our officers work closely with event organizers throughout Stampede to address concerns, encourage compliance and take enforcement action when warranted.
“We continue to work with event organizers as bass levels remain a challenge,” says Ryan Pleckaitis, Chief, Community Standards. “We will continue monitoring all venues closely with the goal of achieving compliance through working with operators or through enforcement, if necessary.”
The City continues to work collaboratively with event organizers to address noise concerns and support compliance with approved permit conditions.

Traffic Disruptions
Please be advised that starting tomorrow until July 23, 2026, there may be intermittent traffic delays on 9th Avenue S.W. between 14th Street and 11th Street S.W., as event organizers begin disassembling their event spaces.
