Police investigate pedestrian collision in Manchester

Our Traffic Section is investigating a serious injury collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred last night in southwest Calgary.

Our Traffic Section is investigating a serious injury collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred last night in southwest Calgary.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., on Saturday, July 11, 2026, a collision occurred at the intersection of 58 Avenue S.W. and 2 Street S.W. At that time, a woman in her 70s was crossing 58 Avenue S.W. at the intersection when she was struck by a black 2012 Toyota Corolla travelling westbound.​

The pedestrian sustained life-altering injuries and was transported to hospital by EMS. The driver remained at the scene.

At this time, investigators do not believe drugs, alcohol or speed were factors in the collision.
