CALGARY, Alberta: The Pakistani Canadian Cultural Association of Alberta (PCCA Alberta) has announced a community-wide celebration to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day on Friday, August 14, 2026, inviting families and members of the Pakistani-Canadian community to participate in an evening of patriotic, cultural and educational activities.

According to the event poster released by the organization, the Independence Day celebrations will begin at 5:00 p.m. at New Horizon Mall, Balzac, Alberta. The event is being organized under the banner “Forever Canada”, reflecting the association’s commitment to celebrating Pakistan’s heritage while recognizing Canada as home.

The program will feature a variety of family-oriented attractions, including face painting, henna, live music, folk and patriotic songs, an Islamic Arts Exhibition, a historical image display highlighting the events of 1947, along with several other cultural activities designed to commemorate Pakistan’s independence and educate younger generations about the country’s history.

The organizers have also announced that the event will include information about the upcoming Alberta referendum, providing attendees with an opportunity to learn more about the issue during the community gathering.

PCCA Alberta is encouraging members of the Pakistani community, families, youth and friends from across Alberta to attend the celebration and participate in the patriotic festivities.
