Three Charged in Calgary Homicide Investigation

Calgary Police Service has charged three people in a homicide investigation linked to the death of a man in Ogden.

Calgary Police Service says three individuals are now facing murder related charges in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in southeast Ogden last year.

Victim Found Near Vehicle

Officers originally responded after reports of gunfire in the area of southeast Calgary during the early morning hours.

A man was found dead outside a vehicle when police arrived.

Investigation Expanded Across Provinces

The investigation later moved beyond Alberta after police developments connected suspects to another province.

Arrests Made in British Columbia

Two suspects were taken into custody after officers in Blue River responded to a vehicle incident along Highway 5.

Two Adults Face First Degree Murder Charges

Police have charged:

  • Aken Bolakok Aken, 23
  • Ayomide Opemipo Adeyinka, 21

Both are from Edmonton and face:

  • first degree murder
  • conspiracy to commit murder

Youth Also Charged

A 17 year old already in custody on unrelated warrants now also faces the same charges.

Because of youth protection laws, the identity of the teenager cannot be released.

Court Appearance Scheduled

The adult accused are scheduled to return to court later this month.

Fourth Suspect Still Wanted

Police continue searching for a fourth suspect identified as Yahya Abdullahi, age 22.

Canada Wide Warrant Issued

Investigators say the wanted suspect faces:

  • murder
  • conspiracy to commit murder

Search Expands Across Regions

Police believe the wanted individual may have links to:

  • Edmonton
  • lower mainland areas of British Columbia
  • Northwest Territories

Multiple Agencies Assisted

The homicide investigation has involved support from several policing agencies across western Canada.

Case Remains Active

Investigators continue asking the public to report information that may assist in locating the remaining suspect.
