The “Fath-e-Marka-e-Haq” cycle rally organized by Pakistan Army’s HQ 7 Division emerged as a vibrant display of patriotism, sportsmanship and national unity, attracting enthusiastic participation from cyclists, families, women and children. The event not only promoted healthy activities and community engagement but also highlighted the growing role of cycling in Pakistan as an organized and competitive sport.

The rally received special support and participation from the Pakistan Cycling Federation, whose President Syed Azhar Ali Shah attended the event alongside officials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cycling Association. Federation representatives praised the Pakistan Army for arranging what they described as an inspiring and well-organized event that successfully combined sports, patriotism and community spirit.

Addressing participants, Syed Azhar Ali Shah said the Pakistan Army has always played an important role in encouraging youth activities and promoting national harmony through sports. He paid tribute to the sacrifices and bravery of the armed forces and said the peaceful atmosphere created through their efforts allows citizens to participate confidently in positive and healthy activities. He added that events like the “Fath-e-Marka-e-Haq” rally send a strong message of unity, discipline and resilience.

Nearly 250 children, girls and women took part in the rally, making it one of the most colorful and energetic cycling gatherings in the region. The two-kilometre ride started from the Futsal Arena and moved through designated routes amid patriotic slogans, national flags and cheers from spectators. Participants described the event as a memorable experience that encouraged physical fitness, teamwork and national pride.

The Pakistan Cycling Federation also highlighted the importance of cycling as a developing sport in the country. The federation, which serves as the governing body for cycling in Pakistan, has played a major role in organizing national championships, promoting road and track cycling and preparing athletes for international competitions. Over the years, the federation has worked closely with provincial associations to discover young talent and strengthen cycling infrastructure across the country.

Cycling in Pakistan has steadily grown in popularity, especially in cities including Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad, where local competitions and community rides are regularly organized. The Pakistan Cycling Federation has also represented the country in regional and international sporting events, including the Asian Games and South Asian competitions, helping Pakistani cyclists gain exposure at higher levels.

Sports officials believe that collaboration between institutions such as the Pakistan Army and national sports federations can further strengthen youth engagement and encourage healthier lifestyles among the population. They said cycling is not only an affordable and environmentally friendly activity but also an effective way to promote discipline, endurance and teamwork among young people.

At the conclusion of the rally, participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sports culture, unity and peace in the country. Organizers and federation officials expressed hope that more such events would be held in the future to inspire the younger generation and strengthen national solidarity through sports.
