The Canadian Zalmi Society in collaboration with All Sports Alberta Foundation has announced a special community event titled “Seniors Game Day,” aimed at promoting active living, social engagement, and community connection among seniors in Calgary. The event will take place on May 18, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Genesis Centre Field 1 with free entry for participants and families.
The program is being organized as a fun filled recreational gathering designed especially for seniors, encouraging healthy lifestyles, friendship, and community participation through games, music, and social activities. Organizers describe the event with the theme “Active, Social, Fun for Everyone,” highlighting the importance of senior wellness and inclusion in multicultural communities across Alberta.
The event will feature several engaging activities including fun games, recreational sports, active lifestyle sessions, music entertainment, and interactive group activities designed for seniors of different age groups and physical abilities. Organizers are also promoting the message “Stay Active. Stay Connected. Stay Happy,” emphasizing physical fitness, mental well being, and social connection for older adults.
One of the key highlights of the event will be a live musical performance by singer and musician Johnny B, who will present a special music show for attendees. His participation is expected to add entertainment and cultural engagement to the seniors focused community celebration.
The organizers stated that the purpose of the event is not only entertainment but also creating opportunities for seniors to interact socially, reduce isolation, and strengthen community relationships. Planned activities include badminton style games, hockey inspired recreational exercises, cricket related activities, musical sessions, and group participation games aimed at encouraging teamwork, movement, and enjoyment.
