At Women University Mardan, the 75th anniversary of Pakistan–China friendship was celebrated with great enthusiasm through a well-organized ceremony and academic seminar held in collaboration with China Window Peshawar. The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony and vibrant performances by students, reflecting cultural harmony and mutual respect between the two nations.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Razia Sultana highlighted that the 75-year-long relationship between Pakistan and China stands as a shining example of trust, mutual respect, and cooperation. She emphasized that education is playing a central role in further strengthening bilateral ties. According to her, this friendship has evolved beyond diplomacy into strong people-to-people and academic connections.
She noted that Pakistan–China relations are often described as higher than mountains, deeper than oceans, and sweeter than honey, and over the decades, they have developed into a robust strategic partnership. Thousands of Pakistani students are currently pursuing higher education in China, gaining exposure to advanced research and technology, which will ultimately contribute to Pakistan’s development.
She also appreciated the role of China Window Peshawar for bringing youth closer to Chinese culture through educational and cultural initiatives. She added that Women University Mardan remains committed to providing quality education and global opportunities to its students, particularly women, while collaborations with Chinese universities are opening new avenues for research, scholarships, and faculty exchange programs.
Speaking at the seminar, educationist Dr. Khalid Khan stated that Pakistan–China friendship is not limited to slogans but is reflected in practical cooperation. He cited the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a key example, adding that the outcomes of its second phase will soon become more visible, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s economic growth.
Columnist Naz Parveen highlighted China’s remarkable progress, noting that lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty is an achievement unmatched globally. She added that Pakistan is also benefiting from China’s advancements, particularly in agriculture, which is a positive step toward economic improvement.
Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Nelofer Akram emphasized that Pakistan–China friendship offers vast opportunities for the younger generation. However, she stressed that students must work harder to fully benefit from these opportunities. She also underlined the importance of increasing cultural and academic exchanges to bring the people of both countries closer.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony by the Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and students, along with a renewed commitment to further strengthen the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China for future generations.
