The Pakistan Canada Association (PCA) Calgary has announced the rescheduling of its upcoming Special General Body Meeting (SGBM), originally planned for May 30, 2026. According to an official notice issued by the association’s Executive Committee on May 27, the meeting will now take place on Saturday, June 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the PCA Hall in northeast Calgary.

The Executive Committee stated that the decision was made following a request from members of the By-Laws Amendment Committee, who are currently reviewing and preparing proposed amendments to the association’s governing bylaws. The committee indicated that additional time is required to complete its work and ensure the amendments are thoroughly prepared before being presented to members for discussion and voting.

According to the notice, the agenda for the meeting will remain unchanged. Members will be asked to review and vote on proposed bylaw amendments that are considered necessary as part of PCA Calgary’s efforts to strengthen its governance structure and support its charitable organization registration process.

The association emphasized the importance of member participation, noting that approval of the bylaw amendments will require a quorum of more than half of the membership and a three-quarter majority vote. PCA leadership described the upcoming meeting as a significant moment in the organization’s future development.

PCA Calgary, a non-profit organization established in 1967 and officially registered in 1975, serves the Pakistani-Canadian community in Calgary and surrounding areas through cultural, social, educational and community programs.

In the notice, PCA President Azhar Hunjra and General Secretary Noman Mushtaq expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the scheduling change and thanked members for their understanding and continued support. They encouraged all eligible members to attend the rescheduled meeting and participate in shaping the future direction of the organization.

The Special General Body Meeting is scheduled for June 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the PCA Hall, located at 4656 Westwinds Drive NE, Calgary.
