Northamptonshire County Cricket Club delivered a historic batting performance, piling up a massive 684-2 against Kent County Cricket Club in the County Championship.

The run-fest at Canterbury saw all four Northamptonshire batters score centuries — a rare feat in cricket history. The innings was declared at 684-2, marking one of the most dominant displays in the competition’s recent memory.

Opener Ricardo Vasconcelos laid the foundation with 127 before being dismissed late on day one. From there, the momentum never slowed as Luke Procter and Calvin Harrison took control, adding massive runs to the total. Harrison scored 153, while Procter remained unbeaten on a career-best 261.

Nathan McSweeney added further damage with a rapid 101 not out, ensuring all four batters reached triple figures — a remarkable statistical rarity.

The match, played at the historic St Lawrence Ground, saw Northamptonshire dominate from the start. They had already reached 409-1 by the end of the first day before extending their total further on day two.

In response, Kent struggled under pressure, collapsing to 176-9 at the time of reporting, with Harry Conway leading the bowling attack and claiming five wickets.

This marks only the third known instance in cricket history where exactly four batters in a team innings all scored centuries. Northamptonshire had also achieved a similar milestone against Kent just a year earlier in 2025.

The performance cements Northamptonshire’s place in record books and highlights one of the most extraordinary batting displays in modern county cricket.
