CALGARY, Alberta: An interfaith gathering organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Calgary aimed to promote religious understanding, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence by bringing representatives of six major world religions together under one roof.
The Religious Founders Day event was scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Baitun Nur Mosque, located at 4353 54 Avenue NE in Calgary. The program was announced to begin at 3:00 p.m., with refreshments scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
This year’s gathering centred on the theme, “Moral Ideals in the Life of My Faith’s Founder,” highlighting the moral teachings, values and contributions of religious founders and their continuing influence on followers and society.
Representatives of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Sikhism and Islam were included in the event’s interfaith program. The initiative was designed to provide a common platform for different religious communities to share their perspectives, discuss ethical teachings and recognize the principles they have in common.
The gathering reflects the importance of interfaith dialogue in a multicultural city such as Calgary, where people from different religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds live together. Through such initiatives, community organizations seek to encourage greater understanding and reduce misconceptions about different faith traditions.
The event’s central message focused on the values of compassion, honesty, justice, tolerance, kindness and service to humanity. By exploring the lives and teachings of religious founders, participants were invited to consider how spiritual and moral principles can help address contemporary social challenges.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at has promoted the message “Love for All, Hatred for None,” which reflects the community’s emphasis on peace, religious tolerance and respect for people of all backgrounds.
Religious Founders Day also highlights the role of faith communities in strengthening social connections and encouraging constructive conversations across religious boundaries. Such gatherings provide opportunities for people to learn about different beliefs while building friendships and mutual respect.
The event was announced as an open invitation to community members, families and individuals interested in interfaith understanding and religious diversity.
The gathering was scheduled to take place at Baitun Nur Mosque in northeast Calgary, with registration available through rfd26.eventbrite.ca.
Through its focus on the moral teachings shared across different religious traditions, Religious Founders Day sought to reinforce the message that respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence are essential to building stronger and more inclusive communities.
