Fire crews in Calgary have been actively responding to a surge in emergency incidents following strong wind conditions that swept through the region, causing disruptions and damage across the city.

According to the Calgary Fire Department, more than 225 emergency calls were handled over the past 24 hours, many of them linked directly to high winds. Incidents included fallen trees, damaged property, and downed power lines, some of which led to temporary road closures.

Despite the scale of the response, officials confirmed that no injuries have been reported so far.

Emergency crews remain on high alert as windy conditions persist. Fire officials stated that both operational and technical teams are fully prepared to respond to any life-threatening situations that may arise.

Residents are being urged to exercise caution, particularly when engaging in outdoor activities, as unstable trees and debris could pose safety risks.

For non-emergency situations involving power lines, such as trees resting on lines without immediate danger, residents are advised to contact ENMAX to report the issue.

Authorities continue to encourage the public to report urgent incidents through emergency services while remaining vigilant during the ongoing weather conditions.

Calgary frequently experiences severe weather events, and officials emphasize the importance of preparedness and community awareness to minimize risks during such situations.
