China Window and Pakistan Culture, Tourism & Arts Organization Join Hands to Strengthen Pakistan-China Cultural Relations

PESHAWAR: In a significant step toward promoting cultural diplomacy and strengthening Pakistan-China people-to-people ties, Peshawar-based China Window and the Pakistan Culture, Tourism & Arts Organization (PCTAO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote cultural, literary, artistic, and tourism initiatives across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony held at China Window, with PCTAO Founder Chairman Javed Aziz Khalji and China Window Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik signing the document on behalf of their respective organizations. The ceremony was attended by distinguished cultural personalities, including Rashid Sohail Paracha, Dr. Shahida Sardar, Naz Parveen, and Mrs. Joyce Askar.

The partnership aims to foster greater cultural collaboration between Pakistan and China through a wide range of initiatives, including cultural exchange programs, art exhibitions, literary events, workshops, and heritage promotion activities. The two organizations also pledged to work together to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen people-to-people connections between the citizens of both countries.

Addressing the gathering, Amjad Aziz Malik said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to preserving cultural heritage while expanding opportunities for artistic collaboration. He noted that promoting literature, arts, and cultural activities has become increasingly important in today’s rapidly changing world and stressed the need to create more platforms for artists, writers, and cultural practitioners throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He added that the collaboration would encourage regular cultural exchanges between Pakistan and China and help introduce local communities to Chinese traditions, arts, and heritage while showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity to Chinese audiences.

Speaking at the ceremony, Javed Aziz Khalji announced that the Pakistan Culture, Tourism & Arts Organization has recently been officially registered with the Social Welfare Department, enabling it to formally launch its programs dedicated to culture, tourism, and the arts.

Khalji described the MoU as the beginning of a long-term partnership that will help revive cultural activities in Peshawar and across the province. He said both organizations intend to organize festivals, exhibitions, seminars, and community-based cultural events designed to encourage artistic expression and strengthen cultural engagement.

He further stated that his organization is committed to promoting religious and cultural tourism by facilitating visits by Chinese tourists to the historical, archaeological, and religious sites of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Such initiatives, he said, would contribute to tourism development while creating new opportunities for cultural understanding between the two nations.

Reaffirming his commitment to Pakistan-China friendship, Khalji observed that Peshawar has not hosted a Chinese cultural delegation for many years. He expressed the hope that future Chinese cultural missions visiting Pakistan would include Peshawar in their itinerary, enabling local audiences to experience authentic Chinese cultural performances and traditions.

Khalji praised China Window as one of Pakistan’s leading institutions dedicated to promoting Chinese culture and strengthening bilateral cultural relations. He expressed confidence that the center would continue serving as an important bridge between the two friendly nations through cultural diplomacy and public engagement.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding represents another milestone in the growing cultural partnership between Pakistan and China. Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to working closely on initiatives that promote cultural exchange, tourism, artistic collaboration, and mutual respect, further reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two countries.
