Our District 3 General Investigations Unit is investigating three separate shootings that occurred in the communities of Forest Lawn, Beltline and East Village.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 5:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man suffering from gunshot wounds after he approached a residence in the 1200 block of 44 Street S.E. seeking assistance.
It is believed the man was shot inside a residence in the 1400 block of 44 Street S.E. He was seen exiting the residence with a man and a woman.
The man and woman fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
On Friday, June 5, 2026, at approximately 10:55 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 1300 block of 14 Avenue S.W.
Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable; however, his injuries are considered life-altering.
While assessing the scene, investigators determined that a second victim had also sustained injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
Witnesses reported that the second victim fled the scene prior to police arrival.
Based on evidence, it is believed the second victim left the area in a vehicle and was transported to the hospital.
The driver was taken into custody and remanded on warrants.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the second victims’ condition was determined to be stable with life-altering injuries.
At approximately 2:40 a.m., today, Saturday, June 6, 2026, police responded to reports of a man suffering from gunshot wounds underneath a bridge in the 400 block of 5 Avenue S.E.
It is believed the victim was approached by two unknown men who demanded his belongings.
A physical altercation ensued, during which one of the men shot the victim.
The men fled the scene while the victim was able to seek assistance.
He was transported to hospital in stable condition with minor injuries.
No suspects are in custody in relation to these investigations.
As these investigations are in the early stages, no further information is available at this time. Anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents or has video from the area during the relevant times is asked to contact police.
