The launch of the Brampton Cricket Championship (BCC) marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter in Canada’s sports history, said Faisal Moledina.

(Press Release) The Brampton Cricket Championship (BCC) – 100 Ball League was officially inaugurated in Canada in a grand and spectacular manner. In a magnificent, emotional, and historic ceremony held in Brampton, cricket became the heartbeat of the community as community leaders, former international and local cricketers, government officials, business personalities, youth, and people from diverse backgrounds gathered together to celebrate unity and the rapidly growing popularity of cricket across the country.
BCC Directors Muhammad Faisal Moledina and Tariq Parvez warmly welcomed the guests and shared their inspiring vision for the future of cricket in Canada.
Faisal Moledina said that the Brampton Cricket Championship is set to create a new and exciting chapter of cricket entertainment in Brampton during the summer season. The tournament will feature 12 strong teams, while more than 100 thrilling matches will be played from May 20, 2026, to October 4, 2026.
He further explained that all BCC matches will be held across six different cricket grounds in Brampton, with more than 60 percent of the matches being played under floodlights. This will create a professional and energetic environment for both players and spectators. To further enhance excitement and competition, the championship-winning team will receive a cash prize of $5,000 along with the prestigious BCC Trophy. A “Man of the Match” award will be presented in every game, while cricket equipment and special prizes will also be distributed regularly to encourage and support emerging local talent.
Tariq Parvez highlighted that the Brampton Cricket Championship is a Not-For-Profit Corporation established under Canadian law. He explained that the organization is not limited to sports only, but is also dedicated to youth empowerment, community service, diversity, charitable activities, and social development.
He added that cricket is one of the most popular sports in the world, and its popularity in Canada is growing rapidly as communities from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, the Caribbean, and many other countries bring extraordinary passion and talent to the game.
Deputy Mayor of Brampton, Harkirat Singh, congratulated Mohammad Faisal Moladina and Tariq Pervez, he further stated that continuous efforts are being made in the City of Brampton to improve infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities for cricket so that young players can transform their dreams into reality at a professional level. We will continue to support People like M. Faisal Moledina as he has proven himself time and again his honest work and dedication for the cricketing community and we admire and appreciate it. We stand by his good intentions and city is ready to support his good cause .
The Foreign Minister Anita Anand also sent her best wishes to Brampton Cricket Championship, as she was on an official trip outside Canada but she did sent her Representative Mr.Onurcan Gokkaya who came all the way from Ottawa & gave his speech on behalf of the foreign Minister.
Ms. Urze Heer a renown person from the city of Brampton was also present at the event and was actively involved in the presentation by presenting and receiving the Recognition awards to sponsors and Delegates, She also praised both the Directors and showed her support towards this league .
On this occasion, Faisal Moledina and Tariq Parvez also presented recognition awards and commemorative shields to sponsors, volunteers, community workers, and individuals who rendered selfless services for the promotion of cricket and community welfare without any discrimination.
