Seeking public assistance in assault investigation

We are looking for the public’s help to identify a man who was involved in an assault that occurred last month in the southeast community of Forest Lawn.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., on Saturday, May 30, 2026, a man was sitting in an alley behind a pub located in the 4200 block of 17 Avenue S.E., with two women and a dog. While sitting, an unknown man approached the group and physically assaulted the man. One of the women intervened, and the suspect fled the scene.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was transported to hospital in critical condition. The victim has since been released from hospital.

Patrol officers circulated the area, however, were unable to locate the suspect. We have since reviewed CCTV from the area and are looking for the public’s help to identify the suspect.

At this time, it is not believed that the suspect and offender are known to each other, however the investigation into the motive of the assault is ongoing.

The suspect is described as 30 years old and was wearing a black baseball hat, red hoodie with ‘HUSTLE GANG’ printed on the front, black pants and black Nike runners with a red swoosh. He was carrying a black backpack.
