Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH religious gathering has been announced in Calgary

A major Muharram-ul-Haram 1448 AH religious gathering has been announced in Calgary, bringing together members of the local Muslim community for a series of commemorative programs during the first twelve days of the Islamic month of Muharram. The event will be held at the Base Ul Hujjaj Islamic Centre of Calgary, located at 3025 12 Street NE, Calgary, Alberta.

Renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Allama Syed Saiban Naqvi is scheduled to address the congregation throughout the first twelve days of Muharram. According to the organizers, daily Majalis and religious gatherings will commence after Maghrib prayers, offering worshippers an opportunity to reflect on the teachings, sacrifices, and legacy of Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala.

The Muharram commemorations are expected to attract a large number of participants from Calgary and surrounding communities. Organizers have emphasized that the programs will focus on the spiritual, historical, and ethical lessons of Karbala, highlighting the values of justice, sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in the face of oppression.

Allama Syed Saiban Naqvi is widely recognized for his scholarly lectures on Islamic history and contemporary religious issues. His addresses during the Muharram gatherings are expected to explore various aspects of the tragedy of Karbala and its continuing relevance for Muslims around the world.
