CTrain collision under investigation

We are investigating a collision involving a CTrain and a pedestrian that occurred yesterday evening.

At approximately 5:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, a man in his 60s was walking southbound on Centre Street approaching Seventh Avenue S., when he entered the path of an oncoming train. The train was moving through the intersection on a green signal.

The pedestrian became pinned under the train, was extricated and transported to the hospital in life-threatening condition.

Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
