One man has been charged following an investigation into an assault with a weapon that left another man with life-threatening injuries in the community of Sunalta.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at approximately 7 a.m., police responded to reports of a stabbing that occurred outside of the Sunalta CTrain station.
It is believed that the suspect was involved in an earlier altercation with four individuals in the 1700 block of 11 Avenue S.W. Witnesses intervened and separated those involved. A short time later, the suspect returned to the area and stabbed one of the individuals.
The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and has since been upgraded to stable condition.
Attending officers quickly identified the suspect, who was located at a nearby residence and was arrested without further incident.
While early information may suggest this was a targeted incident, any act of violence in our city is deeply concerning and taken very seriously.
