Calgary Police Service is asking for the public’s help after two men were shot following an event in northeast Calgary late last month.
Investigators say the victims arrived at Peter Lougheed Centre in the early hours of March 28 suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men were treated for their injuries and have since been released from hospital.
Despite extensive searches, officers were initially unable to locate a confirmed crime scene, and no reports of a shooting were made at the time.
Further investigation revealed the two men had attended an event earlier that evening at the Empire Banquet Hall, located near 12 Street N.E. and McKnight Boulevard. Surveillance footage shows the pair leaving the venue shortly after midnight. However, police say it remains unclear where or when the shooting occurred after they departed.
Authorities believe the incident was targeted and are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying suspects and determining the exact location of the shooting. Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or vehicles in the area around the time of the incident.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them directly or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains ongoing.
