We have charged a man in connection with operating a stolen vehicle and evading police while wanted on 21 warrants, including one for removing his electronic monitoring bracelet.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the Auto Theft Team located a stolen 2012 Toyota Corolla in the northwest community of Capitol Hill. Officers monitored the vehicle, and on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at about 8:50 p.m., a man was observed parking the stolen Corolla inside a garage at a residence in the northwest community of Hawkwood.
Officers contained the residence and took the suspect into custody. Later that evening, a search warrant was executed at the home, leading officers to recover the stolen Corolla, keys and the original licence plate.
As a result, Dustin Andrew SKLEREK, 39, of Calgary, is charged with:
- One count of possession of stolen property over $5,000
- One count of possession of stolen property under $5,000
- One count of driving while prohibited
- One count of fraudulent concealment
- 10 counts of failure to comply with a release order
- One count for driving an uninsured vehicle
- One count for failure to stop at a red light
- 21 outstanding warrants
