Calgary, Alberta — Members of Calgary’s diverse communities will have an opportunity to engage directly with The Honourable Terry Duguid, P.C., M.P., Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South and Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Natural Resources, during a Community Lunch and Open Dialogue on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Terry Duguid has represented Winnipeg South since 2015 and currently chairs the parliamentary committee responsible for natural resources and energy policy.

The event is being hosted by community leader Burhan Khan and aims to bring together community members, business leaders, professionals, youth, seniors, faith representatives, and local organizations for meaningful discussion on issues affecting Canadians.

The luncheon will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Mirchi Restaurant Authentic Pakistani Cuisine, located at 76 Westwinds Crescent NE, Unit #1135, Calgary, Alberta.

According to the organizers, the gathering has been designed to encourage open dialogue between residents and their elected representatives. Participants will have the opportunity to share their views, raise questions, and discuss matters relating to Canada’s economy, energy and natural resources, immigration, multiculturalism, community development, and other public policy issues.

Organizers say the event reflects the importance of strengthening communication between government representatives and local communities. They hope the luncheon will promote greater civic engagement while creating a welcoming environment for constructive conversations across Calgary’s multicultural population.

Terry Duguid is recognized for his long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability, community development, and public service. Before entering federal politics, he served on Winnipeg City Council and held leadership roles in environmental and community organizations. Since his election to Parliament in 2015, he has served in several senior parliamentary and ministerial roles and now chairs the House of Commons Standing Committee on Natural Resources.

Guests attending the luncheon are expected to include representatives from Calgary’s Pakistani, South Asian, and multicultural communities, local business owners, community advocates, professionals, and invited stakeholders. The event will also provide an opportunity for networking and exchanging ideas on issues that matter to local residents.

Speaking about the initiative, the organizers said the luncheon is intended to strengthen community relationships and encourage public participation in Canada’s democratic process under the theme of “Your Voice. Your Community. Your Canada.”

Those wishing to attend have been requested to confirm their participation in advance by contacting Burhan Khan at (403) 510-5612. Seating is expected to be limited.
