A fresh controversy has emerged after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the alleged killing of Haryana-based gangster Bhanu Rana in the United States. The claim, made through a viral social media post, has sparked serious concerns, although authorities have yet to independently verify the incident.

According to the message attributed to accounts linked with the Bishnoi network, the gang declared that Rana had been targeted for betrayal. The post stated that a warning had been issued a year earlier and alleged that Rana was sharing sensitive information with rival groups. It further included threats aimed at others, suggesting that anyone perceived as working against the group could face similar consequences regardless of location.

Despite the strong claims, there has been no official confirmation from US law enforcement agencies regarding any such killing. Reports from individuals based in California have also cast doubt on the authenticity of the claim, noting a lack of local evidence or police activity linked to the alleged incident.

Bhanu Rana, originally from Haryana’s Karnal district, had a long history of criminal involvement. His name first appeared in police records around 2015 in connection with assault cases. Over time, he was reportedly linked to illegal arms possession, extortion activities targeting traders and businesses, and multiple violent clashes. Between 2020 and 2022, his alleged involvement in several shooting incidents further cemented his reputation within organized crime circles.

Investigators believe Rana was once associated with the Bishnoi gang but later distanced himself and aligned with rival factions. This shift may have contributed to tensions and possibly made him a target. In 2023, he is believed to have fled to the United States using forged documents, adding an international dimension to his profile.

The case also highlights the growing reach of organized crime networks beyond national borders. Indian gangs, once largely confined to regional operations, are increasingly being linked to activities overseas, raising concerns for global law enforcement agencies.

Authorities emphasize that until there is concrete evidence or confirmation from official sources, the gang’s claim should be treated with caution. Investigations, if any, will depend on coordination between Indian and US agencies to establish the facts surrounding the situation.

For now, the alleged killing remains unverified, but the incident underscores the evolving and increasingly international nature of organized crime.
