A months-long investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Calgary man who was wanted on 25 outstanding warrants tied to firearms and drug-related offences.
The investigation began in the summer of 2025 when officers from the Calgary Police Service sought to locate a suspect accused of multiple serious crimes who had failed to comply with court-ordered release conditions and did not attend scheduled court appearances.
Over several months, investigators used various policing techniques and coordinated efforts across specialized units. They also worked closely with the Alberta Sheriffs Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team (FASST) in an attempt to track the individual. Despite those efforts, the suspect initially evaded capture.
In February 2026, officers located the man and observed him breaching his release conditions. When he returned to a residence in the 300 block of Third Street S.E., police contained the building to safely carry out an arrest.
Authorities say the suspect attempted to escape by climbing down the balconies of the building. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
During a subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle, officers seized a folding combat knife.
Brandon Lane Tallman, 30, now faces more than 30 offences dating back to 2023. The charges include resisting arrest and five new counts of failing to comply with a release order. He also faces 25 outstanding charges connected to previous warrants.
Those earlier charges include production of a controlled substance, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking offences, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Tallman is also charged with several serious firearms offences, including possession of an unauthorized firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of a firearm with an altered or defaced serial number, and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Additional charges include dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, failure to attend court, and multiple counts of breaching release conditions.
Tallman has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026.
Police say the arrest underscores the persistence of investigators and inter-agency cooperation in locating individuals who attempt to evade the justice system while facing serious criminal allegations.
