Police Investigate Targeted Shooting Outside Southeast Calgary Restaurant

Calgary police are investigating a shooting believed to be linked to organized crime after a man was seriously injured outside a southeast restaurant late Tuesday night.

Officers were called around Feb. 10, 2026, to the parking lot of the Cactus Club located in the 7000 block of Macleod Trail S.E., following reports that a man had been shot while sitting inside his vehicle.

Upon arrival, police located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable, according to investigators.

Victim Believed to Be Targeted

Members of the Calgary Police Service Organized Crime and Offender Management Section have taken over the investigation. After reviewing CCTV footage from the area, investigators believe the victim was specifically targeted as he left the restaurant.

Police are treating the incident as organized crime-related.

“Any time shots are fired in our city, it’s concerning, and even more so when it puts innocent bystanders at risk,” said Acting Insp. Ben Lawson of the CPS Organized Crime and Offender Management Section. “Targeted or not, this type of violence is unacceptable, and we have put resources in place to identify and hold these offenders accountable.”

Ongoing Efforts to Address Gun Violence

Calgary police say tackling gun violence and organized crime remains a top priority. Authorities continue to coordinate investigation, prevention, and enforcement strategies aimed at reducing victimization and strengthening community safety.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
