Calgary is heading into another busy September weekend with a wide range of activities for families, sports fans, music lovers and anyone looking for something different to do around the city.

From high powered monster trucks and international show jumping to outdoor movies, fall farm activities, live orchestral music and family charity events, there are plenty of options from Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13.

Deadly Alberta True Crime Tour

History and true crime enthusiasts can explore some of Alberta’s darkest stories during an evening tour at The Confluence Historic Site and Parkland.

The outdoor experience looks at notorious crimes from Alberta’s past, including cases involving murders and executions.

The tour takes place Friday, September 11, with sessions scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person.

Zoo Brew

Beer and food lovers can spend Friday evening at the Calgary Zoo during Zoo Brew.

More than 30 beverage vendors will be featured throughout the zoo, giving visitors an opportunity to sample drinks from different producers while enjoying food and exploring the attraction after regular hours.

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 11. Tickets are $99.

Monster Jam

Calgary Farmyard Fall Days

Calgary Farmyard is welcoming visitors for its fall season with pumpkins, corn mazes, wagon rides, farm animals and seasonal treats.

Fall Days runs through October 25, while the farm’s Harvest Lights experience returns with thousands of lights illuminating the property on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Cinema on 17th

Movie fans can enjoy free films outdoors this weekend at Tomkins Park as Cinema on 17th returns with a series of screenings under the night sky.

Halloween arrives early at Calaway Park with the return of Halloweekends.
