Police investigate suspicious death in Sunridge

Our Homicide Unit is currently on scene investigating the death of a man that occurred last night in the city’s northeast.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026, police were called to the Emerald Hotel and Suites located at 2750 Sunridge Blvd. N.E., for reports of a man in medical distress. Upon arrival, officers located a man deceased inside the hotel and his death is believed to be suspicious.

One person is in custody. This is believed to be a targeted incident and there is no active threat to the public.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information is available at this time. More information will be shared when additional details are confirmed.
