The Canadian Guidance Association has announced a major community engagement event titled “Connect, Bloom & Grow,” scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the City Hall Atrium in downtown Calgary. The family friendly gathering, running from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM, aims to bring together members of the community, professionals, entrepreneurs, youth, and local businesses under one roof in an effort to promote networking, career guidance, cultural unity, and community development.

According to the organizers, the event has been designed as a high energy and interactive platform where attendees will have the opportunity to meet renowned entrepreneurs and professionals from across Alberta. Representatives from diverse fields including doctors, engineers, accountants, lawyers, Calgary Police Services, peace officers, City of Calgary officials, and professionals associated with the Government of Alberta are expected to participate and interact with community members.

The organizers stated that the event is focused not only on professional networking but also on empowering youth and supporting creativity within the community. A special section of the program will highlight youth entrepreneurs and local vendors, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their products, businesses, and creative ideas. Community members will also be able to shop from a variety of local stalls and support emerging entrepreneurs.

The event is being coordinated by organizer Madeeha Khan and her team, who have extended an open invitation to families, students, professionals, and community members from all backgrounds to attend and participate in the celebrations. The organizers emphasized that the event will offer a welcoming and inclusive environment aimed at strengthening social connections and promoting positive engagement among Calgary residents.

In addition to professional and entrepreneurial networking, the event will feature a wide range of entertainment and recreational activities for families and children. Free activities planned for the day include games, face painting, arts and crafts, mehndi (henna), mascot appearances, a magic show, and a children’s costume showcase. Complimentary treats including juices, snacks, chocolates, and refreshments will also be available for attendees throughout the program.

One of the key attractions of the event will be the raffle draws taking place every 30 minutes, where visitors will have the opportunity to win various prizes and gift packages. Organizers announced that prizes will include gift baskets from Handi, complimentary meal vouchers from IYYC Burg, and gift cards from Boston Pizza, Tim Hortons, Shoppers Drug Mart, and several other businesses. Live entertainment performances are also expected to be part of the event lineup, creating an engaging atmosphere for visitors of all age groups.

Several businesses and community partners have joined the initiative as sponsors and supporters. Prominent sponsors featured on the event poster include Raj Dhaliwal Forward Together, Boston Pizza, Handi, IYYC Burg, and Mampster. Their support reflects growing collaboration between local businesses and community organizations in creating inclusive public events in Calgary.

The Canadian Guidance Association noted that the objective behind “Connect, Bloom & Grow” is to create opportunities for meaningful interaction among community members while encouraging social harmony, mentorship, youth engagement, and cultural celebration. Organizers believe that such initiatives play an important role in strengthening multicultural values and fostering collaboration between professionals, entrepreneurs, and families in Alberta’s diverse society.

Community leaders and volunteers associated with the event expressed optimism that the gathering will attract a large number of attendees from across Calgary and surrounding areas. They added that the combination of professional networking, cultural entertainment, children’s activities, local business promotion, and community engagement makes the event unique and beneficial for people of all ages.

The event will take place at the City Hall Atrium in downtown Calgary with free admission for all visitors. Organizers have encouraged residents to attend with their families and take advantage of the opportunities for networking, entertainment, and community connection offered during the afternoon program.
