Amjad Aziz Malik, General Secretary of the Asian Sports Association and recipient of the prestigious Pride of Performance award, visited the DHA Academy in Lahore where he met legendary Olympian and Head Coach of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Manzoor ul Hassan Sr.. The visit turned into an important discussion on the future of hockey and the overall sports system in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Amjad Aziz Malik presented his book to Manzoor ul Hassan as a mark of respect and appreciation for his lifelong services to Pakistan hockey. Both personalities exchanged views on the decline of hockey in the country and emphasized the need for serious efforts to revive the national game which once brought great international recognition to Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Amjad Aziz Malik said Pakistan possesses immense talent in hockey and other sports, but young athletes require proper guidance, modern facilities and continuous support to succeed at the international level. He stressed that sports academies such as DHA Academy are playing a vital role in preparing the next generation of players and helping young talent move in the right direction.

Manzoor ul Hassan also shared his thoughts on the importance of discipline, hard work and professional coaching in sports development. He said Pakistan hockey has a glorious history filled with Olympic and world titles, and with collective efforts the country can once again regain its lost position in international hockey.

During his interaction with the young players, Amjad Aziz Malik encouraged them to remain committed to their goals and work with passion and determination. He reminded them that representing Pakistan is a great honor and urged them to continue striving for excellence in sports and education side by side.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of government support, private sector investment and grassroots development programs for the promotion of sports in Pakistan. Participants agreed that more sports academies should be established across the country to provide opportunities to talented youth.

Col Saeed and Navid Akhtar Malik were also present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts being made for the development and revival of hockey in Pakistan.
