Police in Calgary are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for two separate sexual assaults reported in the city’s southeast.
According to investigators, the incidents occurred on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Fish Creek Park, a popular recreational area. The first reported assault took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. near Mallard Point, where a woman was jogging when she was approached and attacked by an unknown man riding an e-scooter.
Police believe the suspect had been observing the victim near park restroom facilities prior to the assault. Following the incident, he reportedly fled the area on the e-scooter, heading toward the Douglasdale neighbourhood.
Investigators also believe the same individual was involved in a second sexual assault in the park roughly 20 minutes earlier, raising concerns about public safety in the area.
Suspect Description
Authorities have released a description of the individual in an effort to identify him:
- Male, late teens to early 20s
- Approximately 6 feet tall
- Light skin tone with blond hair
- Wearing black pants and a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up
- Carrying a white backpack with colourful spots
- Riding an e-scooter while playing music through a speaker
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who recognizes the description to come forward.
