Police in Calgary are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for two separate sexual assaults reported in the city’s southeast.

According to investigators, the incidents occurred on Monday, April 20, 2026, in Fish Creek Park, a popular recreational area. The first reported assault took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. near Mallard Point, where a woman was jogging when she was approached and attacked by an unknown man riding an e-scooter.

Police believe the suspect had been observing the victim near park restroom facilities prior to the assault. Following the incident, he reportedly fled the area on the e-scooter, heading toward the Douglasdale neighbourhood.

Investigators also believe the same individual was involved in a second sexual assault in the park roughly 20 minutes earlier, raising concerns about public safety in the area.

Suspect Description

Authorities have released a description of the individual in an effort to identify him:

  • Male, late teens to early 20s
  • Approximately 6 feet tall
  • Light skin tone with blond hair
  • Wearing black pants and a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up
  • Carrying a white backpack with colourful spots
  • Riding an e-scooter while playing music through a speaker

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who recognizes the description to come forward.

Public Safety Reminder

Officials are reminding residents to remain vigilant, especially in parks and isolated areas, and to report any suspicious behaviour immediately. Increased awareness and timely reporting can play a crucial role in preventing further incidents and assisting investigations.

Anyone with information is asked to contact local police or Crime Stoppers. Authorities emphasize that even small details could be vital in identifying the suspect and ensuring community safety.
