Irfan Sabir, Member of the Legislative Assembly in Alberta representing Calgary-Bhullar-McCall, has announced that he intends to run again in the next provincial election from the same constituency. According to a press release issued by Sabir, a joint nomination meeting will be held for Calgary-Bhullar-McCall, Calgary-Falconridge, and Calgary-North East ridings under the banner of the Alberta New Democratic Party.
Sabir expressed his gratitude to the residents of his constituency, stating that he is thankful for the trust and support they have placed in him since 2015. He added that he remains committed to working hard to earn their support once again. Emphasizing key priorities, he highlighted the importance of building a strong economy, improving health care services, and ensuring proper funding for education. He also criticized the current government, saying that together they can challenge what he described as an out-of-touch, separatist, and corrupt UCP administration.
The nomination meeting is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Genesis Centre. Sabir has requested members of the community to attend the meeting and actively participate in the democratic process.
