Update – Victim identified in fatal assault

Dor Thor Metkurjock has been identified by investigators as the victim in a fatal assault that took place in southeast Calgary last week.

Police say the incident happened at about 9 p.m. on March 25 inside a residence in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road Southeast in the community of Ogden.

Officers were called after reports of a physical altercation inside the home.

When emergency responders arrived, they found a man in his twenties suffering from critical injuries.

He was taken to hospital in life threatening condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Authorities say those believed to be involved had already left the location before police reached the residence.

Following an autopsy completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the victim was formally identified as 28 year old Dor Thor Metkurjock.

Investigators continue working to locate the suspects connected to the case.

Police say current evidence suggests the incident was domestic related.

Officials also confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public linked to this investigation.

The case remains active as detectives continue gathering evidence, reviewing witness information, and tracing the movements of those involved before and after the assault.

Investigators have not yet released details regarding the number of suspects or possible charges as the search continues.

Police are asking anyone with relevant information connected to the events in Ogden that evening to come forward as efforts continue to complete the investigation.
