Police Seek Suspect in Whitehorn Indecent Act Case

Calgary Police Service is asking for public assistance to identify a suspect linked to an indecent act investigation in Whitehorn.

Calgary Police Service is requesting help from the public as investigators continue working to identify a man connected to an indecent act reported near a playground in northeast Calgary.

The incident took place in the community of Whitehorn.

Incident Reported Near Playground

Police say the man was first seen close to a playground during the afternoon hours.

Investigators believe he may have been using a smartphone while near children in the area.

Public Intervention Prompted Departure

According to investigators, the suspect later engaged in inappropriate public behaviour before leaving after being confronted by nearby residents.

Composite Sketch Released

Officers conducted witness interviews and searched for camera footage but were unable to obtain a clear image.

A composite sketch has now been released to support identification efforts.

Suspect Description Shared by Investigators

The man is described as:

  • between 70 and 80 years old
  • approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall
  • medium build
  • medium complexion

Distinctive Facial Features Noted

Police say he had:

  • a white tipped beard
  • black roots in the beard
  • visible brown and red patches

Clothing Description at Time of Incident

He was reportedly wearing:

  • black headphones
  • navy work pants
  • black shoes
  • black toque
  • blue puffer jacket

Smartphone May Be Important Evidence

Investigators say he was carrying a white and gold coloured smartphone.

Public Asked to Contact Police

Anyone who recognizes the suspect description is encouraged to contact police as the investigation continues.
