Calgary is preparing to welcome thousands of young job seekers as the city’s largest youth hiring event returns later this month.

The 2026 Youth Hiring Fair will be held on March 26 at Big Four Building, offering direct access to employers actively recruiting young workers.

Eighty Employers to Attend

Around 80 employers are expected to participate, with thousands of available positions across multiple sectors.

Jobs will include:

  • part time work
  • full time positions
  • seasonal employment
  • permanent opportunities

Designed for Ages 15 to 24

The event is aimed at young people between 15 and 24 years old, including:

  • high school students
  • college and university students
  • recent graduates
  • first time job seekers

Direct Hiring Opportunities Available

The hiring fair is organized by the Youth Employment Centre and focuses on immediate employer contact rather than online applications alone.

Officials say face to face conversations often help young people secure opportunities faster.

Long Running Employment Program

For more than 25 years, the event has helped connect thousands of youth with employers across Calgary.

Over time, it has linked more than 100,000 young people with employment opportunities.

Free Support Before the Event

Youth Employment Centre is encouraging young people to prepare in advance by visiting its office for free support.

Available help includes:

  • resume preparation
  • interview practice
  • job search guidance

Walk In Services Available

Youth can visit the centre without appointment for one on one support before attending the fair.

City Focused on Reducing Employment Barriers

City officials say many young people still face challenges entering the workforce, and the fair is designed to reduce those barriers.

Opportunity for Calgary’s Next Generation

Organizers believe the event remains one of the strongest direct pathways into employment for young residents entering the labour market.
