Three Arrested After Midday Shoplifting Spree in Calgary’s Beltline
A midday shoplifting incident in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood ended with three arrests after police tracked a suspect vehicle across the city.
Calgary police say the incident began around 12:45 p.m. Sunday at a retail store along 17 Avenue SW near 7 Street. Store security reported that two men and a woman took several items of clothing and left without paying.
Security staff captured images of the suspects and shared them with police, along with details about a vehicle believed to be involved.
Officers later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Brentwood Boulevard NW shortly after 1:30 p.m. All three occupants were arrested at the scene.
Police say cocaine, bear spray, and a knife were seized from inside the vehicle. The stolen clothing was recovered and returned to the store.
Three Calgary residents have been charged with theft over $5,000:
- Brye Robertson, 43
- Taylor Ray Calfchild, 30
- Tony Donovan Crane, 24
All three are scheduled to appear in court in March.
