All the speakers talked about the life of Shaheed Bibi Benazir Bhutto. They said Benazir Bhutto was a symbol of resistance against dictatorship and oppression. Despite facing imprisonment, exile, and constant threats to her life, she never abandoned her struggle for democratic values and the rights of the people of Pakistan. Her vision was rooted in tolerance, social justice, women’s empowerment, and a progressive Pakistan.

Among the speakers were Dr. Ahmad Khan, SVP Alberta; Shah Sawar Khan, SVP and Information Secretary Alberta; Choudry Tanveer, President Alberta Chapter; Mushtaq Kiani; Barrister Shazia Naz; Wasima Qadri; Laiaq Khan; Ashter Khan; Haras Khan; and Tariq Khan. It is noteworthy that on 27 December 2007, Benazir Bhutto was martyred in a tragic attack in Rawalpindi. According to the PPP, key evidence related to the assassination of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was destroyed immediately after the tragic incident. At the time, the country was under the government of former President General Pervez Musharraf.
