Three Teens Charged After Stabbing Near Westwinds LRT Station

Calgary Police Service has charged three teenagers after a stabbing and robbery near McKnight-Westwinds LRT Station left one man seriously injured.

Calgary Police Service has charged three teenagers after a violent assault near McKnight-Westwinds LRT Station left one man with life threatening injuries.

The incident happened Sunday night in the northeast area of the city.

Victim Found With Serious Injuries

Police responded shortly after 9 p.m. to reports of an assault in the Westwinds area.

Officers arriving at the scene found a man suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Brief Encounter Led to Assault

Investigators believe the victim had a short interaction with three teenage boys before the situation quickly turned violent.

During the assault, one suspect allegedly used a knife.

Phone Taken During Attack

Police say the suspects also stole the victim’s mobile phone before leaving the area.

Quick Arrest Followed Nearby Search

Additional officers searched the nearby area and found three suspects matching descriptions only a short distance from the scene.

All three were taken into custody soon after.

Charges Filed Against Three Teenagers

Tristan Lucas, 18, has been charged with:

  • aggravated assault
  • robbery

He remains in custody pending court proceedings.

Youth Suspects Also Charged

A 16 year old and a 14 year old have both been charged with robbery.

Their identities are protected under youth justice laws.

Court Dates Scheduled

The accused teenagers are expected to appear in court on separate dates this week.

Police Raise Concern Over Youth Violence

Investigators say the incident highlights ongoing concern about violent behaviour involving young offenders.

Officials noted that rapid police response helped prevent further escalation.
