Nawazuddin Siddiqui has raised strong concerns about the direction of Bollywood, saying filmmakers should take greater responsibility in presenting reality rather than creating artificial narratives.

The actor shared his views during a public discussion where he spoke openly about cinema, society and artistic honesty.

Truth Matters in Cinema, Says Siddiqui

According to Siddiqui, films influence public thinking and therefore should not push society toward confusion or false ideas.

He stressed that truth remains important because audiences already understand what is genuine and what is not.

Strong Criticism of Current Film Narratives

When asked whether modern films are being shaped around selective narratives, Siddiqui responded that many productions are no longer reflecting real life honestly.

He said audiences often recognise the difference between lived reality and what is being shown on screen.

Reference to Global Uncertainty

The actor also noted that people today are closely observing world developments and can distinguish between facts and constructed messaging.

His comments suggested that viewers are increasingly aware of deeper realities behind public narratives.

Manto Role Still Holds Deep Meaning

Speaking about his portrayal of Saadat Hasan Manto, Siddiqui said reading Manto’s writing helped him understand the courage required to present uncomfortable truths.

He described Manto as fearless for writing openly about difficult realities.

Politics Not His Area of Focus

Siddiqui also made clear that he keeps distance from political involvement and prefers to remain committed to his craft.

He said there is enough depth in acting itself to spend an entire life learning.

Advice for Young Actors

The actor encouraged younger performers to rely on discipline rather than luck.

He said success comes through:

  • consistent training
  • patience
  • repeated effort
  • refusal to give up

According to him, artists must work until they become impossible to overlook.

Hard Work Above Luck

Siddiqui added that he does not believe success depends on fortune and that repeated failure should never stop someone from continuing.
