As the blessed month of Ramadan moves quickly toward its final days, Muslims around the world are deeply engaged in fasting, prayer, charity, and reflection. With only half of Ramadan left, families are already looking forward to the joyous celebration of Eid. After 30 days of discipline and devotion, Eid becomes a special time of happiness, unity, and gratitude. It is a day when children smile with excitement, families gather, and communities come together to celebrate faith and togetherness.

In Calgary, preparations for Eid have already begun with great enthusiasm. A major community event is being organized to bring people together in a festive and joyful atmosphere. Javaria Jilani, former president of PCCA and current president of She Leads Foundation, is organizing a large celebration titled “Fun Food Festival” to mark the spirit of Eid.

Speaking about the event, Javaria Jilani shared that the Fun Food Festival will take place on March 27, 2026, at Falconridge Community Hall in northeast Calgary. The event will begin at 12:00 pm and continue until 10:00 pm, giving families a full day of enjoyment and celebration.

She explained that this festival is designed to create beautiful memories for the community. The program will include a fashion dress show, music, fun activities for children, games, and a wide variety of delicious food. Special prizes will also be given to children, adding more excitement for the younger generation. The aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where families can relax, enjoy, and celebrate together.

One of the most important highlights of the event is that there is no entry fee. Everyone is welcome to attend and take part in the celebration. For those who wish to set up food or business stalls, space is still available. The stall fee is $100, payable in advance. Organizers are encouraging local businesses and community members to participate and showcase their products and talents.

Javaria Jilani has invited all communities to join this celebration and make it truly memorable. She emphasized that Eid is not only about festivity but also about unity, sharing happiness, and strengthening community bonds. Events like the Fun Food Festival help bring people closer and allow children and families to celebrate the beauty of Eid in a joyful and meaningful way.

As Ramadan continues, the excitement for Eid grows stronger. This upcoming festival promises to be a day filled with laughter, culture, food, and togetherness — a true reflection of the spirit of Eid.
