Calgary Man Charged After Major Firearms Seizure

Calgary Police Service charged a Calgary man after officers seized loaded firearms, body armour and prohibited weapons during a northwest search.

Calgary Police Service has laid multiple charges against a Calgary man after officers recovered several firearms and prohibited weapons during an investigation linked to organized crime concerns.

The case was handled by the city’s Gun Violence Enforcement Team.

Arrest Followed Social Media Investigation

Police say the suspect was arrested on outstanding warrants after investigators identified prohibited weapons appearing on social media.

The arrest took place earlier this month.

Search Conducted in Northwest Calgary

A warrant was executed in the Home Road northwest area of Calgary where officers recovered multiple weapons.

Firearms Recovered by Investigators

Among the seized weapons were:

  • a loaded rifle
  • a stolen rifle
  • a sawed off shotgun
  • an additional shotgun

Handgun Found in Vehicle

Police also recovered a loaded handgun from the suspect’s vehicle during the operation.

Additional Weapons and Protective Equipment Seized

Investigators also located:

  • body armour
  • an operational taser
  • 3D printed brass knuckles

Multiple Criminal Charges Filed

Jesse C. Bain, 37, faces several charges connected to firearm possession and prohibition violations.

These include firearm possession offences, prohibited weapon possession and unlawful body armour possession.

Police Cite Community Safety Concerns

Officers say removing loaded weapons from circulation remains a key part of reducing serious violence risk.

Organized Crime Links Under Investigation

Police have indicated the accused is believed to have links to organized criminal activity, though further investigation continues.
