Calgary is home to many mosques serving the growing Muslim community. Although Canada is not a Muslim country, people of all faiths are respected and free to practice their religions. From local council members to the prime minister, the spirit of religious harmony and mutual respect is strongly upheld. During the blessed month of Ramadan, mosques across Calgary arrange Aftar dinners where friends, neighbors, and those in need are warmly welcomed to share the meal.
Yesterday, at Faizan-E-Makkah Masjid, a community Aftar dinner was graciously hosted by Nabeel Nawaz of Icon Accounting. Around 300 people attended the gathering, creating a beautiful atmosphere of brotherhood and unity. Among the prominent attendees were Imtiaz Ahmed, Suleman Khalid, Muhammad Waqar Alam, Umair Ali, and Khurram Shahzad, along with many respected realtors and members of the business community.
At the conclusion of the gathering, host Nabeel Nawaz expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, emphasizing the importance of compassion, charity, and togetherness during the sacred month of Ramadan. The evening reflected the true spirit of faith, generosity, and community harmony.
