Calgary has officially lifted the boil water advisory affecting Spruce Cliff along with impacted sections of Wildwood and Rosscarrock.
Officials confirmed that residents and businesses in the affected communities can now use tap water safely without boiling.
Water Testing Confirms Safety Standards
City laboratories, working with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, completed testing and verified that the water now meets required quality standards.
The testing confirmed the supply is safe for drinking, cooking and everyday household use.
Flushing Recommended for Inactive Water Systems
Residents or businesses that have not used water during the last 24 hours are advised to flush internal plumbing systems before regular use.
Recommended flushing steps include:
- run cold water through a bathtub tap for ten minutes
- then run all other cold taps for five minutes
Businesses without bathtubs should run all cold taps for ten minutes.
City Thanks Residents for Cooperation
City officials thanked residents and business owners for their patience during the advisory period.
Water Conservation Still Important
Authorities also reminded citizens that water conservation remains important while reinforcement work continues on the Bearspaw South Feeder Main.
That project remains part of broader efforts to strengthen Calgary’s water system reliability.
