What a wonderful evening bringing together professors, heads of departments, administrative staff, and the MSA of Mount Royal University for a special Iftar dinner in recognition of the blessed month of Ramadan ![]()
This memorable event was organized by ICNA Calgary Chapter, with the support and collaboration of EDI at MRU, Sisterhood in Action, and MSA-MRU. It was truly inspiring to see people from diverse backgrounds come together in a spirit of unity, understanding, and respect.
The President of MRU shared their excitement in witnessing such a diverse and inclusive gathering. Sister Laila beautifully highlighted the objectives and essence of Ramadan, while Dr. Abdur Rehman spoke about the purpose behind organizing such a meaningful event.
Br. Ateeq Patel, President of ICNA Calgary, thanked all attendees for their enthusiastic participation and presented Ramadan gifts to the guests ![]()
Dr. Syed Qasim and Dr. Mousa, Head of the EDI Department, warmly welcomed everyone and ensured the smooth execution of the event from start to finish.
A heartfelt appreciation goes to the dedicated volunteers from MSA and YM Calgary for their outstanding efforts in organizing, setting up, and wrapping up the event. YM sisters added a special touch by offering henna to guests, and ICNA sisters introduced the “Try Hijab” experience for interested participants.
The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and delicious food
— making it a truly memorable and enriching experience for everyone.
