Calgary Police Service has charged a teenage suspect following a serious domestic assault in Pineridge that left a woman in critical condition.

Police say officers were called at approximately 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, after reports of an altercation inside a residence in the northeast Calgary community.

When officers arrived, they found a woman in her 50s suffering from serious medical distress. Emergency responders transported her to hospital, where she remains in life threatening condition.

A 15 year old male was taken into custody at the scene immediately after officers entered the residence.

Investigators have now charged the youth with one count of aggravated assault and one count of mischief to property under 5,000 dollars.

Because the accused is a minor, his identity cannot be released under the provisions of Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused appeared in court on April 1, 2026, as legal proceedings began.

Police say the incident is considered domestic in nature and for that reason no further information about the relationship between those involved or the circumstances inside the residence will be made public.

Authorities have also confirmed there is no broader threat to the public connected to this case.

Domestic violence investigations often remain limited in public disclosure because of legal protections involving victims, minors, and ongoing court procedures.

Police continue to monitor the medical condition of the injured woman while the criminal case moves forward through the court system.

The incident adds to several recent serious assault investigations across Calgary where domestic circumstances have required specialized investigative handling and victim support services.

Officials continue encouraging anyone facing domestic violence or repeated threats inside the home to seek immediate help through police or crisis support channels.
