Iran signals possible regional infrastructure targets after major bridge strike near Tehran.

Iran has signalled possible retaliation against major regional infrastructure after a large bridge near Tehran was heavily damaged during recent military strikes.

Iranian media reports indicate that several important bridges across neighbouring Gulf countries and the wider Middle East were publicly identified as potential strategic targets if conflict continues to escalate.

Among the structures mentioned were the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway in Kuwait, the Sheikh Zayed Bridge and other major crossings in United Arab Emirates, along with the King Fahd Causeway linking Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Additional bridges in Jordan were also identified in the reported list.

The warning followed damage to a major bridge project west of Tehran that was under construction and intended to improve transport links toward Karaj.

Iranian provincial officials say several people were killed and many more injured after sections of the structure collapsed during the strike.

The bridge had become symbolically important because of its scale and engineering profile within Iran.

Political tensions have sharply intensified following recent joint military operations involving the United States and Israel.

Donald Trump publicly warned that further strikes could follow unless Tehran agrees to political negotiations.

Iranian officials responded by saying attacks on civilian infrastructure would not weaken national resolve.

Abbas Araghchi said targeting unfinished civil projects demonstrates escalation rather than strategic success.

Regional security observers note that references to major bridges carry symbolic and practical significance because these crossings are central to transport, trade, and military movement across the Gulf region.

The latest exchange has increased concern that infrastructure may become part of a wider pressure strategy if diplomatic channels fail.

Several Gulf capitals are now closely monitoring the situation because many of the named crossings are vital economic lifelines linking major population centres and trade routes.

Analysts warn that any strike on such infrastructure could rapidly widen regional consequences far beyond current battle lines.
