Calgary Police Service has released its photo enforcement schedule for April 2026, identifying several communities across Calgary where photo radar vehicles will actively monitor speed compliance throughout the month.

The enforcement campaign is part of ongoing traffic safety efforts aimed at reducing collisions and improving driver awareness in residential areas, major road corridors, and high risk traffic zones.

Neighbourhoods selected for April enforcement include Acadia, Arbour Lake, Canyon Meadows, Capitol Hill, Cityscape, Coventry Hills, Douglasdale Douglasglen, Evergreen, Harvest Hills, Lake Bonavista, MacEwan, Mahogany, Nolan Hill, Saddle Ridge, Skyview Ranch, Sunalta, Walden, Whitehorn, and Winston Heights Mountview.

In addition to these communities, mobile photo radar units will also be deployed in construction zones whenever workers are present, where reduced speed limits remain strictly enforced.

Police say speeding fines continue to increase depending on how far a vehicle exceeds the posted speed limit.

Drivers caught travelling more than 50 kilometres per hour above the speed limit must appear before a judge, where higher penalties and possible additional consequences may be imposed.

The city also continues operating 57 intersection safety camera locations that monitor red light violations across major intersections.

Five of those locations are additionally equipped to capture speed on green offences, targeting drivers who accelerate through intersections while the signal remains green.

Officials say these systems continue to reduce dangerous collisions and encourage safer driving habits at intersections where serious crashes have previously occurred.

The enforcement strategy supports the broader Safer Mobility Plan being carried out jointly by city transportation officials and police.

That long term strategy follows the Vision Zero principle, which aims to eliminate fatal and serious injury collisions through engineering, education, and enforcement.

Authorities remind motorists that speed enforcement locations rotate monthly and that every posted speed limit is intended to protect both drivers and pedestrians.

Police encourage drivers to remain alert, especially in school areas, construction corridors, and neighbourhood roads where sudden hazards can appear.
