Awami National Party (ANP) Alberta chapter is organizing “Bacha Khan Night” on April 3, 2026, in Calgary. The event will gather community members, intellectuals, and speakers to reflect on the life and legacy of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and his message of peace and nonviolence.
According to Sher Akber Khan, this evening will highlight Bacha Khan’s sacrifices for the people of the subcontinent, Islam, and Pakistan. He stated that Awami National Party remains committed to the same peaceful political philosophy as its leader. He added that Bacha Khan was not only a leader of the subcontinent but a global symbol of peace, whose speeches inspired people across the world.
Bacha Khan, also known as the “Frontier Gandhi,” was a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi and a strong advocate of nonviolent resistance. Through his Khudai Khidmatgar movement, he promoted education, social reform, and unity among communities.
Organizers have invited people from all communities to attend this intellectual and meaningful event, aimed at spreading the timeless message of peace, tolerance, and coexistence.
